
Barnstable encompasses 7 wonderful individual unique villages... Barnstable is the village area itself which is on 6A and has a few small businesses and wonderful restaurants. It's an easy stroll to the Bayside and harbor from there... Centerville is mostly residential and is on the south side where Nantucket sound Beaches are and it has a small business district as well... Cotuit is a charming tranquil village on Cotuit Bay with a few notable museums and art centers like the Cahoon Museum of American Art... Hyannis is Cape Cod's ”big city” housing the Cape Cod Mall, Cape Cod Hospital, many car dealerships, shops and restaurants (everything from fast food to fine dining) as well as some fine residential areas especially the area along the harbor where you can take off to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard by ferry... Osterville is on the Nantucket sound it's an affluent and upscale area, there are many high-end homes and a very fine little village for strolling, shopping and dining as well as country clubs and yacht clubs... Marstons Mills is a residential area convenient to its surrounding towns offering needed services and shops. There are ponds, walking trails and biking plus housing tends to be more affordable in this area... West Barnstable is known for beautiful Sandy Neck, the Great Marsh and is mostly residential area.
